Home school communication

The staff of Neutral Bay Public school are committed to the development of strong positive relationships with our school community. Open, two-way communication is encouraged between parents and teachers and parents and the principal.

Parents are urged to contact the school as soon as matters of concern arise. If these cannot be resolved with your classroom teacher, please do not hesitate to contact the principal or deputy principal. This is especially important for matters affecting your child's safety and wellbeing.

Home to School

Parent/Teacher Interviews

This avenue is always available to parents and encouraged above all other methods. Parents are asked to contact the class teacher via the office or a note to the teacher to arrange a convenient time. This will enable teachers to give you quality time.

Parents are reminded that it is difficult for teachers to respond to parents when they are on playground duty or during class time as they have to give full attention to supervision and teaching.

Interviews with Principal or Deputy Principals

Please arrange for interviews with the principal or deputy principals via the office, a phone call or a brief note.

Letters/Notes

Parents are welcome to convey messages concerning their child via brief letters and notes where an in-depth response is not required.

School to Home

Interviews

The school will arrange interviews with parents where matters of concern arise at school. Contact will be via a brief note or telephone call.

Weekly Newsletter

This is the main form of communication from the school to parents. It advises you of general school matters, school events (eg carnivals, high school open days), school and student achievements, Student Representative Council news, P&C subcommittee information (eg Canteen and Band rosters), Traffic and Safety news and information on relevant community services and activities (eg holiday programs).

Facebook

The Neutral Bay Facebook Closed Group is an avenue for our school to share information with our school community and showcase our environment of happy, engaged and safe students. Here you will find regular updates and reminders, copies of notes, photos of activities happening around the school and on excursions, links to the yearly calendar and more.

With consideration to the privacy of our community, people requesting to join the closed group will be required to provide their child's name and class in a private message as proof of relationship to the school. To join the group, you must be over the age of 18. Please note that  our closed group is not able to be found by children under the age of 17 or by people living overseas.
