Children at Neutral Bay are allocated to a sports house, fostering a strong sense of spirit, identity and participation, along with increased leadership opportunities.

House captains and vice captains (two for each house) are elected by students and teachers at the beginning of each school year.

Our school houses are

Waratah (red): named after the red flower emblem of NSW and an Eora word loosely meaning 'beautiful'.

Gilmore (green): named after Mary Gilmore, a former teacher at Neutral Bay Public School.

Milson (blue): named after James Milson, an early settler on the North Shore.

Warung: (yellow): named after an indigenous word, loosely meaning ‘north of the harbour’.
